Fran Orallo (Badajoz, España, 1979) reside y desarrolla su práctica artística en Glasgow, Escocia. Formado en Bellas Artes por la Universidad Politécnica de Valencia (España) y en New Media Art en el City of Glasgow College (Escocia), su producción se articula en torno a la experimentación audiovisual, especialmente en las intersecciones entre vídeo y animación digital.

Su investigación estética se orienta hacia la construcción de un imaginario híbrido que problematiza las fronteras entre lo verídico y lo simulado. En este marco, el cuerpo y, de manera particular, las nociones de identidad y subjetividad se configuran como ejes conceptuales centrales. A través de figuras que encarnan estados de inestabilidad o desdibujamiento identitario, Orallo aborda la representación de subjetividades fragmentadas y en constante negociación.

Un componente fundamental de su metodología es la incorporación del glitch como estrategia expresiva. El error digital deja de ser entendido como una anomalía para convertirse en un recurso estético capaz de generar nuevos regímenes de significación. Esta aproximación le permite explorar el potencial de las imágenes seudoabstractas: composiciones que tensionan la relación entre abstracción y figuración, ubicándose en un umbral donde lo expresionista convive con restos reconocibles de lo figurativo. De este modo, su obra reflexiona sobre los límites de la percepción, la materialidad de la imagen y las posibilidades de construcción de nuevas narrativas visuales en la era digital.
Fran Orallo ha expuesto su obra tanto en España como en el extranjero, participando en bienales, exposiciones colectivas y festivales de más de 50 países. Su obra ha sido proyectada en instituciones públicas y privadas tal y como el IVAN (Valencia, España), Museo Vostell Malpartida (Cáceres, España), MAC- Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Santiago de Chile (Chile), La Neomudejar (Madrid España), Centro del Carmen (Valencia, España), Ex Teresa Arte Actual (Ciudad de México, México), bienales como La Bienal de Venecia, (Venecia, Italia), The Wrong Biennale, (Copenhague, Dinamarca), y en ferias y festivales como RAW-Roma Art Week, (Roma, Italia), arteBA’10 (Buenos Aires, Argentina), FILE (Brasil), Madatac (Madrid, España, PROJECTOR (Madrid, España), IN-SONORA (Madrid, España) o FIVA (Argentina) entre otros.

His work is structured around audiovisual experimentation, particularly at the intersections between video and digital animation.

His aesthetic research is oriented toward the construction of a hybrid imaginary that challenges the boundaries between the real and the simulated. Within this framework, the body and, more specifically, the notions of identity and subjectivity function as central conceptual axes. Through figures that embody states of instability or blurred identity, Orallo explores the representation of fragmented subjectivities in constant negotiation.

A fundamental component of his methodology is the incorporation of glitch as an expressive strategy. Digital error ceases to be understood as an anomaly and instead becomes an aesthetic resource capable of generating new regimes of meaning. This approach allows him to explore the potential of pseudo-abstract images: compositions that strain the relationship between abstraction and figuration, occupying a threshold where expressionist qualities coexist with recognizable traces of the figurative. In this way, his work reflects on the limits of perception, the materiality of the image, and the possibilities for constructing new visual narratives in the digital era.

Fran Orallo has exhibited his work in Spain and internationally, participating in biennials, group exhibitions, and festivals in more than 50 countries.
